Review of RAW tribute to Eddie Guerrero

Tonight's episode of RAW was a tribute to WWE superstar Eddie Guerrero who died on Sunday. There was no storyline advancement. There were a couple of very good matches and some pointless ones interspersed with WWE superstar tributes to Eddie. The show started with Vince McMahon and the entire locker room on stage. Many of the wrestlers had clearly been crying before the show. McMahon's comment that Eddie's goal was always to steal the show was certainly true. That's why fans loved Eddie Guerrero. They made him lie, cheat & steal and we still loved him. They had Eddie in that idiotic Who's Your Daddy storyline with Rey Misterio Jr. last summer and after it was finished, we still loved him. So did all the guys in the locker room. The Kurt Angle/Shelton Benjamin & Rey Misterio Jr./Shawn Michaels were very strong. Unfortunately, the main event between John Cena & Randy Orton was very weak with a poor ending. I realize that Cena is the RAW champ and he needed to be on the show but the match seemed out of place especially as the main event. The tributes to Eddie Guerrero by Lillian Garcia, Dave Batista and especially Chavo Guerrero Jr., Rey Misterio Jr. & Chris Benoit were very emotional. Once again John Cena seemed out of place and so did HHH & Stephanie McMahon. I would have preferred hearing from The Big Show, Shelton Benjamin, Kurt Angle or Dean Malenko. This week's Smackdown will also be a tribute to Eddie so maybe we'll hear from them at that time. They plan to show some of Eddie's matches on Smackdown as well. Chris Benoit's comments were particularly poignant. Those two guys have been through a lot together over the years.

Tuesday night's edition of MSNBC's Rita Cosby:Live & Direct at 9PM EST will be a tribute to Eddie Guerrero
