Yahoo LAUNCHCAST song of the day

Artist:Billy Cobham f/The Brecker Brothers
Song:Some Skunk Funk
Album:A Funky Thide Of Sings

In the 70s, Panamanian Billy Cobham became one of the most powerful & popular drummers in jazz mostly through his partnership with Randy (trumpet) & Mike (sax) Brecker. Billy & Randy first worked together in Horace Silver's band then brought in Mike to form the group Dreams. Billy left Dreams to join The Mahavishnu Orchestra and then started his solo career. Not surprisingly, he asked his pals The Brecker Bros. to join his tour band. They had started recording as well and Some Skunk Funk is actually a Mike Brecker song from the first Brecker Bros. album. Cobham has been inconsistent over the years but his early recordings like this one are still worth seeking out.

One thing is for sure. My new power chair takes bumps and curbs a lot smoother than the loaner. I always felt like the loaner would break going up a curb. I don't feel that way with this chair. It's snowing right now and I do have to go out later for TTC tickets. I may delay that until tomorrow or Monday if I don't like the looks of the weather.
