Mark Martin wins Talladega Craftsman Truck race

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck series came to Talladega for the first time Saturday for the John Deere 250. It was a great race with a crazy finish. Mark Martin won the pole.

Mark Martin-#6 Scott's Miracle Gro Ford led the first few laps but he was overheating and had to pit to have a piece of trash removed from his grille on lap 11. Johnny Benson-#23 Exide Batteries Toyota led for a while but eventually Martin would get his lap back and the lead.

At Talladega & Daytona, drivers aren't allowed to pass on the apron because it is considered unsafe. Todd Bodine-#30 Lumber Liquidators Toyota & teammate Ted Musgrave-#9 ASE Toyota pass Mark Martin for the lead on lap 85 but Bodine is penalized for passing on the apron. Fortunately, a Boston Reid-#25 Dodge spin brings out a caution and Bodine is 27th. Martin leads with Mike Wallace-#09 Geico Chevy second and Mike Skinner-#5 Toyota third. Bodine comes up through the field. As the white flag comes out, Skinner spins out Wallace and Bodine spins out Derrike Cope-#40 Chevy. Both guys hit the wall. The caution ends the race. Martin wins, Skinner is second, Musgrave is third and Bodine is fourth. Johnny Benson is 9th and Bodine pads his point lead a bit.
