K-Grace womens MMA fed announces debut show

A press conference was held in Tokyo Wednesday to announce a new womens MMA company called K-Grace. The company is owned by the Marupro Gym. I believe that this is the same company that attempted to launch the Exciting Box womens wrestling promotion last year. The matches will be supervised by Cage Force & HERO'S rule director Gen Isono. The show producer is Tetsuma Yamada. He edits a newspaper called Naitai Sports and is president of the Japanese Adult Entertainment Writers Association. Their current plan is to run three shows a year. Matches are scheduled for two five minute rounds with rules similar to HERO'S. No knees or elbows on the ground.

Their debut show will be May 27 at Differ Ariake in Tokyo. It will immediately follow the Cage Force show at the same arena. It will be a one night eight woman tournament with $10,000 US dollars up for grabs. And the matches will be in a cage for the first time in Japan since LLPW's L-1 shows over a decade ago. Already signed is Megumi Yabushita, REMIX 2000 champ Marloes Coenen from the Netherlands, Roxanne Modaferri who is a US fighter living in Japan, Polish fighter Magdalena Jarecka and Lithuanian Muay Thai champ Jurgita Leitonaite. Apparently, they are negotiating with Gina Carano. There are conflicting reports about this. Bout Review says she has signed. GB Ring says not yet. The problem is Gina has an Elite XC match coming up on June 2 so the timing isn't good. Gina has had international exposure so it would be a big deal if they could sign her. There will be more fighters added shortly.
