Yahoo LAUNCHCAST song of the day

Artist:Hamilton Loomis

Song:Love Again

Album:Ain't Just Temporary

Life on the road is a very slippery slope for young blues musicians. He'll want to respect the tradition of blues but also be contemporary enough for young fans. That's what Hamilton Loomis is trying to do. He was born and raised in Galveston, TX. By age 14 he was touring clubs with his own family band. He mostly plays guitar & harmonica and writes a lot of his own material. He was mentored by blues legends Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and especially Bo Diddley. His 1994 debut Hamilton was nominated for a Best Contemporary Blues Album. His career took a turn for the better when he signed with Blind Pig Records in 2003. Ain't Just Temporary was released last week. Loomis plays most instruments except drums. Bo Diddley sits in on guitar. His music is blues with a definite R & B slant. I'm always looking for new talent and Hamilton Loomis has talent. Here he is performing What It Is in Houston 2006.
