Yahoo LAUNCHCAST Song Of The Day-Amp Fiddler

Artist:Amp Fiddler f/Corinne Bailey Rae

Song:If I Don't

Album:Afro Strut

Joseph "Amp" Fiddler is a funky keyboard wizard who is now emerging as a formidable solo artist. He grew up in Detroit and has been a close associate of George Clinton since the late 80s. He released an album in 1990 as Mr. Fiddler but at the same time he's played keyboards with Warren Zevon, Was (Not Was). Prince, The Brand New Heavies, Primal Scream, Too Short, Maxwell and of course George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars. He got back to recording as a solo artist with his mixmaster buddy Moodymann in 2002 and released Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly in 2004. This built Fiddler a cult following especially in England. Afro Strut was released in England last year and has just been released in the US. If I Don't features British jazz singer Corinne Bailey Rae. Fiddler had worked on some remixes of her music. The song has a bit of a shuffle vibe featuring clarinet by Wendell Harrison. R & B singer Stephanie McKay also appears on the CD and so does Raphael Saadiq. Like fellow P-Funk alumni Bootsy Collins & Bernie Worrell, Amp Fiddler has a lot of talent and will be worth watching in the future. And here's the CGI video for If I Don't by Amp Fiddler & Corinne Bailey Rae.
