Chick Fights SUN resurfaces

Several fans have asked me if there's anything happening with Chick Fights SUN. Well, Saki Maemura & Hikaru still work there and though they are starting to turn up in other companies, they are mostly wrestling each other on ZERO-ONE MAX shows. If that seems boring, imagine doing it. But First On Stage is resurrecting the WBD Mixed Tag Team Title for the July 13 Differ Ariake show. That's that belt that Nakamura supposedly started after going to Abu Dhabi but where has it been for a year and a half. Normally I wouldn't care but FOS has posted video on Youtube with Maemura & Hikaru talking about the match and I have posted it here for your enjoyment.

The company is also reviving the concept of a combined ZERO-ONE/SUN show ZERO-SUN Chick & Dog. You may recall they did a few of these shows last fall and they even say that they promised more of these shows last October. The show will be July 21 at the Tsukidate Sports Park Gym in Kurihara City. It's like what they tried with ZERO-SUN NEXUS a couple of years ago. I don't know why they're trying it again. There will be three men's matches and three women's matches. The women's matches are Hiroyo Matsumoto vs Esui, Yuki Miyazaki vs Haruka Matsuo and Hikaru vs AKINO. Maemura must be working elsewhere that day. Fans have asked me why Maemura & Hikaru stayed at FOS if they are being used so poorly. The only answer I can give is they're drawing a paycheque. They've never freelanced and they don't want to. They're getting paid and FOS is handling their bookings. They feel secure. Of course it's not very ambitious but they're making a living and that's what's important to them.

Actually, the 2nd match at the Chick & Dog show is Yuki Miyazaki & Jaguar Yokota vs Saki Maemura & Haruka Matsuo, so Maemura is there.

I don't know if you saw this at http://www.zerooneusa.com (about halfway down the page), but we had the return of the ridiculous SUN press conference with the return of these mixed tag belts. There's some kayfabe Arab sheik who will give you a palace if you can defend the WDB titles 10 straight times. Yeah, right, like there will ever be 10 matches involving these belts again. I expect we'll have 1 or 2 matches, then they will be forgotten about again and may never return.

  2. Nah, it's like I said. If it wasn't for the video, I wouldn't have bothered with this crap. I understand why the two of them stayed there. But it's very short sighted and ultimately very bad for the joshi business because it's clear that FOS doesn't give a damn about them.
