Megumi Fujii interview

Smackgirl will make an announcement this week regarding the company's future. I expect them to reschedule the finals of the World REMIX tournament. With these ongoing problems, fans have been asking me what Megumi Fujii is up to. Other than her usual AACC activities, she seems like she's bored. She actually turned up on an Aug. 24 joshi puroresu show called LEE Presents-The Beginning. It was her first pro wrestling appearance in a couple of years. She also appeared on the Sept. 12 Shot Boxing Korakuen Hall show in a match against Misato Tomita. I guess she had to resist going for a takedown. But she did pretty good against an experienced boxer. Tomita won by majority decision. One of the judges scored it a draw and the other two scored it 30-28 & 30-29. Afterwards, Sportsnavi blogger Aki Sasaki caught up with Fujii and asked her about the match. Fujii laughed and said she's good at sleep technique, not shock technique. She said it was a good fight and she had fun but obviously she's not familiar with the Shot Boxing rules. Fujii said the Smackgirl postponement was a big problem for both her and teammate Hitomi Akano and she's just trying to keep busy. Fujii has been training tn the US and says she is in talks to fight in the US. Are you listening, EliteXC? Hopefully this week's Smackgirl press conference will get Fujii back in an MMA ring and she won't be bored anymore. Megumi Fujii then thanked Shot Boxing for the opportunity to fight. "I don't think I was very good but I had fun." So it wasn't a total loss.
