Kim Couture is now 1-1 after defeating Lina Kvotov by TKO at 1:44 of round one at the Nov. 21 Strikeforce show. Check out the video of the match. I think it's great that Kim won but the opponent's behaviour was disappointing. You know, I've been very critical of Kim because she has more important things to do with her time than fight. She basically admitted that the other day. But at least when her jaw was broken in her debut fight against Kim Rose, she fought back. Lina Kvotov came out to the cage like she was going to a tea party. The announcers tried to build her up and then when Kim started to hammer her with punches, she turned her back and quit. She wanted to go home. Why did you come? The ref didn't stop the fight immediately. He must have been surprised by Lina's reaction. She was bawling her eyes out after the fight. Geez, get a real job. Fighting's not for you. Kim Couture said after the fight that she was happy with the win but obviously disappointed with her opponent's behaviour. Kim, if you want to stink up your own promotion, be my guest. But don't do that in Strikeforce. I'm sure we'll see Kim fight again. Obviously she needs a better opponent. So the fight isn't good but you guys want to see it anyway. Enjoy!

ReplyDeletethat was terrible... With so many skillful women fighters out there its a shame this is how we are respresented in a televised "fight"
ReplyDeleteIs it possible this was a "getting her confidence back" thing for Kim, and they misjudged just how much a roll-over this was going to be?
ReplyDeleteIt is simply a poor example of sportsmanship to say "I'm really into other things". Think of how hard most fighters of both sexes work and never see a single ad with his or her name on it.
Both are very good fighters, this is what I can say. After, of course, one of both must be the winner... Matches are done for this.

To part that, I wonder how the commentators can't pronunce the French name 'Couture' correctly ! :D If I transcribe it in IPA it would give [kutüR] !!! ^^

Defshepard here again Frank. You stick to your guns on this one and rip Kim Couture a new one. She deserves it. Every bit of it. Any respect I had for her is out the window. She truly is stinking up women's mma bigtime. All because of her husbands name. What a mealticket for her. Frank where do you go to look up more on her opponent? Lina? I believe they must have known and just wanted Kim Couture to win that badly.That's my opinion at this point.
ReplyDeleteI just looked up her record on Sherdog. There was nothing unusual about Lina's record. But we're learning now that there were rumours that she wasn't training, she smokes and she was starstruck. The word now is Lina is quitting the fight business. Seems to me she quit on Friday. I can't read minds so I can't say what the Couture camp knew about Lina. Hopefully they'll be more careful in the future.
