Hikaru announces marriage to New Japan star Kanemoto

When Hikaru & Saki Maemura announced their retirements a couple weeks ago, Maemura announced that she already had a post retirement job lined up. But what about Hikaru? It was announced today that Hikaru will marry New Japan Pro Wrestling star Koji Kanemoto. A wedding ceremony date will be announced after Hikaru's retirement on Apr. 26. Kanemoto decided to make this announcement in grand style at the New Year's Day ZERO-ONE MAX show at Korakuen Hall. After Hikaru's match on the show, Kanemoto entered the ring wearing a suit and proceeded to drop to one knee and propose to Hikaru in front of a packed Korakuen Hall crowd. Kanemoto said he wanted plenty of witnesses. The crowd went nuts and demanded the two kiss and they did exactly that. He said that at 42 years of age he has finally found the best woman for him. It seems the two met last February during the ZERO-ONE/New Japan war and started dating in May. Apparently Kanemoto originally proposed marriage in writing. He sent Hikaru a letter. Isn't that romantic? Congratulations to the happy couple and I wouldn't be surprised to see the pitter patter of tiny feet in the Kanemoto household in a couple of years.
