Roy Hargrove Big Band at Toronto Jazz Festival tonight

Tonight I am going to see the Roy Hargrove Big Band at the Koerner Hall at the Royal Conservatory Of Music on Bloor St. as part of the Toronto Jazz Festival. Roy Hargrove is one of the most versatile musicians in jazz today. Since he was disovered at his Dallas high school by Wynton Marsalis, he has been recording all kinds of music mostly for Verve Records. He has done straight ahead jazz, his Afro-Cuban group Crisol and his Neo soul group RH Factor. But last year's CD Emergence was his very first big band album. It's a 19 piece band featuring musicians like pianist Gerald Clayton, sax player Jason Marshall and trombone player Max Siegel. I also expect a guest appearance by Italian born jazz singer Roberta Gambarini. It should be a great show. Here's the Roy Hargrove Big Band performing September in The Rain.
