The Japanese fight community wasted no time in getting together to raise funds for earthquake relief. They held a fundraising rally today in front of a department store in the Shinjuku district and raised over a million yen for the Red Cross in Japan. There were several big name fighters and pro wrestlers there including Shinya Aoki and Akihiro Gono. The female fight contingent was led by Megumi Fujii along with Rina Tomita, legendary pro wrestler, LLPW owner and member of parliament Shinobu Kandori and veteran pro wrestler Takako Inoue. OZ Academy owner Mayumi Ozaki is doing a similar rally in Shinjuku on Sunday and several joshi wrestlers will be in attendance. Ice Ribbon's Monday Korakuen Hall show will be a fundraiser. Triple Tails has also announced fundraising plans. A lot of the pro wrestling companies are making similar plans and even foreigners like legendary pro wrestler Tiger Jeet Singh and Brazilian MMA star Wanderlei Silva are pitching in.
