VV Mei to face WINDY Tomomi on Apr. 3 Pancrase show

VV Mei
Pancrase announced today thay have added VALKYRIE Featherweight Champion VV Mei vs WINDY Tomomi to the Apr. 3 Differ Ariake show. The fight is contracted for 52.5kg and scheduled for two five minute rounds. It is a non-title match. The big news here is that VV Mei is the fighter formerly known as V Hajime. Her record is 6-2-1 and her last fight was a draw against Kyoko Takabayashi at the Nov. 28 VALKYRIE show. But fans in attendance thought Takabayashi won and VV Mei may have escaped with her title due to poor judging. And VV Mei admitted that she didn't perform well. So she changed her ringname and left her longtime dojo Max Jiu Jitsu and will now freelance. This will be her first match as a freelancer. Obviously she saw enough of a problem to make these changes. I think she needed to refocus on MMA after spending way too much time messing around in SHOOT BOXING last year. The veteran fighter WINDY Tomomi trains at Pancraseism. Her record is 16-12-1 and her last fight was a majority decision over Akiko "Betiko" Naito on the Dec. 5 Pancrase show. WINDY has won her last four matches. She is known as a very powerful striker but vulnerable on the ground. This match will be in a ring and VV Mei said that she would prefer to fight in a cage as they do in VALKYRIE. But she has never faced WINDY before and is excited to face her. WINDY says she wants a title shot. And that's what she'll get if she wins. It's a good test for VV Mei as WINDY is always very tough and could win this match. It should be very interesting.
