Beth Phoenix is the new WWE Divas Champion

The good news is that Beth Phoenix finally won the WWE Divas Championship from Kelly Kelly at last night's Hell In A Cell PPV. The bad news is the finish was overbooked and was the result of unnecessary outside interference. The match was OK. It's hard to have a really good match with someone as weak as Kelly Kelly but Beth did her best to make it look good. Beth dominated most of the match but Kelly got her little comebacks and flash pin attempts. The end came when Natalya threw Eve Torres into the ringside barrier to get her out of the way. Beth applied a submission hold known as Cattle Mutilation. No, it's not a surfboard variation. The hold was created in Japan and given a nonsense name. Daniel Bryan used it as a finisher in indy feds. So when Kelly wouldn't submit, Natalya hit her with a microphone and then Beth finished her with the Glam Slam. I don't know why the finish was done that way. It was completely unnecessary. I'm happy that Beth got the title but it should have happened two weeks ago. Enjoy the video!
