AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Daryle Singletary

Artist:Daryle Singletary
Song:Too Much Fun
Album:Now and Again

Too Much Fun was the breakthrough hit for country music singer songwriter Daryle Singletary in 1995. He had three top five hits from his first two CDs and then faded. He was born Mar. 10, 1971 in Cairo, GA which is in South Georgia. He grew up singing in church and moved to Nashville in the early 90s to become a singer. He recorded a lot of demos and one of those demos got the attention of country music star Randy Travis. Travis recorded the Singletary song An Old Pair Of Shoes on one of his albums and then got Singletary a record deal at the Warner Bros. label Giant Records. Too Much Fun is from Singletary's 1995 debut CD Daryle Singletary. It reached #4 on the Country Singles chart. The song was written by veteran songwriters Curtis Wright and TJ Knight. Wright is best known as the former lead singer of Shenadoah. Knight recorded two albums for Mercury as Jeff Knight in the 90s. Singletary's other top five hits were I Let Her Lie and Amen Kind Of Love. Both reached #2 on the Country Singles chart. When none of the singles from his 1998 CD Ain't It The Truth were hits, Giant dropped him. Singletary signed with Audium which was the Nashville office of Koch Entertainment. Now and Again was released in 2000. It has his hits and also some new songs and is available as a budget CD. After releasing the 2003 CD That's Why I Sing This Way, Koch closed their Nashville office in 2005. Singletary released the 2007 CD Straight From The Heart on Shanachie Records. And then he returned to Koch after they were purchased by the Canadian company E1 Entertainment. His latest CD Rockin' In The Country was released in 2009. Singletary still performs in Nashville.
