Kaori Yoneyama arrives in STARDOM

Kaori Yoneyama
2012 was a very strange year for veteran joshi wrestler Kaori Yoneyama. It all started when during her retirement ceremony on Dec. 23, 2011, she changed her mind and decided not to retire. This angered JWP owner Commando Bolshoi to the point that she has created a document that a retiring wrestler must sign to guarantee that she will go through with the retirement ceremony. There certainly were clues at a press conference earlier that week that Yoneyama was having second thoughts about retirement. But she didn't tell Bolshoi about those second thoughts and that was a serious mistake. Yoneyama returned to JWP in Jan. 2012. But it became obvious that Bolshoi was not going to forgive her for what she did. It cost Bolshoi a lot of money. In April, an angle was worked out to allow Yoneyama to go work for Sakura Emi's new Thailand based promotion Gatoh Move. The two won the JWP Tag Team Championships so they could go to Thailand and defend them. For the remainder of the year, they went back and forth between Japan and Thailand. At JWP's annual Christmas show on Dec. 24, Commando Bolshoi beat Yoneyama in what was billed as a grudge match and then shook hands afterwards. That was for the public. But the truth is Bolshoi will never forgive Yoneyama. So she decided to leave JWP and left after Kayoko Haruyama's 15th Anniversary show on Jan. 27. One week later, she arrived in STARDOM. In the main event, Nanae Takahashi, Miho Wakizawa and Eri Susa defeated Natsuki*Taiyo, Yoshiko and Act Yasukawa. Wakizawa won the fall and while celebrating in the ring, Yoneyama entered the ring in her street clothes. Takahashi asks what Yoneyama is doing there and calls for general manager Fuuka. Fuuka didn't know anything. So Yoneyama said she was wondering if she could come to STARDOM and challenge Natsuki*Taiyo. So she is joining Takahashi's babyface group and will make her STARDOM debut in two weeks. She will freelance elsewhere too.
