AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Randy Rogers Band

Artist:Randy Rogers Band
Song:Kiss Me In The Dark
Album:Just A Matter Of Time

Just A Matter Of Time was the 2006 major label debut CD for Texas based country group Randy Rogers Band. Kiss Me In The Dark was the first single from that CD. Their albums have done well and they are a very successful touring band. Lead singer Randy Rogers grew up in the Fort Worth suburb of Cleburne, TX. His great grandmother taught him to play piano at age six. He started writing songs at age 11. After some time in a backup band, he formed Randy Rogers Band while studying public relations at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, TX. Other members are Geoffrey Hill on guitar, Jon Richardson on bass, Brady Black on fiddle and Les Lawless on drums. They recorded two CDs on small labels that did well enough regionally in Texas that they signed with Mercury Nashville and producer Radney Foster. Foster is best known as one half of the 80s duo Foster & Lloyd. When they split up in 1990, Foster recorded solo and later on got into production. Lately he has concentrated on his own performing career and reunited with Bill Lloyd in 2011. Just A Matter Of Time was Rogers' major label debut in 2006. Kiss Me In The Dark was the first single. Foster wrote it with George Ducas. Ducas recorded two albums in the 90s and has had success as a songwriter for others. Though they haven't had any big hit singles, Randy Rogers Band has become one of the top touring attractions in the US. They were moved to MCA Nashville in 2010 and their latest CD Trouble was released Apr. 2013. They are currently on tour. Their music is a mix of country and rock though I would say they are more country than rock. Here's the video for Kiss Me In The Dark by Randy Rogers Band.
