AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Randy Houser

Artist:Randy Houser
Song:Boots On
Album:Anything Goes

Randy Houser had success as a songwriter before recording his debut CD Anything Goes in 2006. Boots On was his first top five country hit. After switching record companies, he seemed to get a second wind and returned to the charts last year. He was born Dec. 15, 1975 in Lake, MS. His father was a musician. Houser played in local bands as a teen and moved to Nashville in 2002. He co-wrote the 2005 Trace Adkins hit Honky Tonk Badonkadonk and then signed with MCA Nashville. Nothing came of that and Houser signed with Universal South in 2008. He got some attention when he performed Anything Goes on Late Show with David Letterman. But Boots On was the bigger hit. It reached #2 on the Country Singles chart. Houser wrote the song with Brandon Kinney. Houser wrote half the songs on Anything Goes. BTW, the kid in the video is Drake Dixon, son of songwriter Dillon Dixon. His nanny shot the video and posted it on MySpace. Houser saw it and asked if he could use it. When Universal South merged with ShowDog, It looks like Houser's second CD They Call Me Cadillac seemed to fall through the cracks. This frequently happens with record company management changes. The album did OK but there were no hit singles. So Houser moved to Stoney Creek Records for the 2013 CD How Country Feels. He had three top ten country hits from that CD. Houser says he's a lot happier with Stoney Creek. He is currently on tour. Here's the video for Boots On by Randy Houser.
