Four matches added to Nov. 3 DEEP JEWELS show

Emi Fujino, Ayaka Miura
Today DEEP JEWELS added four matches to the Nov. 3 show at Shinjuku FACE. The already announced main event will have Ham Seo Hee defending her DEEP JEWELS Lightweight Championship against Saori Ishioka. This show will air on UStream iPPV. With Takayo Hashi, Ayaka Hamasaki and MIZUKI appearing on the Nov. 1 Invicta show, the DEEP JEWELS roster is thinner than usual. I expect a lot of filler. All four announced fights are scheduled for two five minute rounds. Contracted for 52kg, Emi Fujino will face Ayaka Miura. Fujino's record is 14-8 and she trains at WK Gods. I'm sure you all saw her lose to Jessica Aguilar in the WSOF. That went as I expected. So now she's back in Japan and she got married too. The problem with Miura is she is only 1-0 with a win over Ella Wu on the May 18 DEEP JEWELS show. She trains at TRIBE TOKYO MMA which is owned by veteran fighter Ryo Chonan. She might be a good fighter someday. But I think it's unfair to take a fighter with one pro fight under her belt and throw her into the deep end of the pool with someone as experienced as Fujino. DEEP JEWELS matchmaker Shigeru Saeki must think she's cute. In a Middleweight (125lb) fight, Shizuka Sugiyama will face Yurika Nakakura. After Sugiyama lost to Takayo Hashi at 135lb, she decided to drop to 125. She was supposed to fight a Korean kickboxer who normally fights at 115 but she got hurt and the fight was cancelled. Saeki's attempt to get Sugiyama an easy win didn't work out. Sugiyama already beat Nakakura on the Sept. 22, 2012 JEWELS show. Nakakura is an amateur wrestler who dabbles in MMA. Her MMA record is 3-1 and her last win was over Miki Mayauchi on the Aug. 31 Grachan show. I think it would be an upset if she won but it could happen because Sugiyama isn't very good. In a 52kg fight, Tomo Maesawa will face Yuko "Amiba" Oya. Maesawa trains at Paraestra Hachinohe. Her record is 3-4 and her last fight was a loss to Cortney Casey on the June 27 PXC show in Guam. On the last DEEP JEWELS show, Amiba delivered the fight of the night with a spirited win over Sachiko Fujimori. It even surprised Saeki. This improvement coincides with Amiba's move to AACC after the DEEP dojo closed. it must be the Megumi Fujii effect. So Saeki is trying to find out if Amiba is for real. It may be time for a move up the card. She's only 27 and worth keeping an eye on. In a 48kg fight, Satomi "SARAMI" Takano will face Mina Kurobe. SARAMI trains at Club Barbarian in Yoyama, home of MIKU. Her record is 3-4 and her last fight was a loss to Saori Ishioka on the May 18 DEEP JEWELS show. Kurobe trains at Master Japan. Her record is 3-0 and her last fight was a win over Masako Yoshida on the Aug. 18 DEEP JEWELS show. The problem with her is she is 37 years old with limited experience. So the clock is ticking. With a win, Kurobe should get a boost up the card. I will have more on this show as new matches are announced.
