AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Percy Bady

Artist:Percy Bady
Song:Painful But Necessary
Album:Kingdom Inspiration

Percy Bady is a gospel music producer, songwriter and arranger known as Bad Bady. But he has occasionally recorded albums and this 2013 CD will appeal to gospel fans. Bady is from Chicago. His brother Ray Bady is also a musician. Their dad was Pastor O.D. Bady. So not surprisingly, they grew up in church. He taught himself to play piano. He got into secular music as a teen and considers Quincy Jones to be a major influence. After studying at Roosevelt University, Bady's first job in gospel music was with Rev. Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Choir. He was a big part of turning them into The Tommies. Artists like Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams and Fred Hammond hired him to produce their music. In 2003, Bady released his first CD The Percy Bady Experience on GospoCentric Records. The album did well but Bady seems to prefer remaining behind the scenes. Then in 2013, Bady signed with Marantha! Music. Marantha is a Praise & Worship label looking to expand to the Black Gospel market. So they not only signed Bady to a record deal but they hired him as Gospel A & R director. Kingdom Inspiration is Bady's first album on Marantha!. Though Bady sings Painful But Necessary, he uses a lot of guest vocalists on the album including Lowell Pye of Men of Standard, Donald Lawrence, Canton Jones and Jesse Campbell from The Voice. The song Still was nominated for a Best Gospel Song Grammy. Kingdom Inspiration is available as a budget CD and it is recommended to gospel fans. No doubt Bady will return to producing and will maybe release an album down the road. He worked on Common's 2014 CD Nobody's Smiling and no doubt he is developing new artists for Marantha!. He likes to Periscope his activities on Twitter. Here's the video for Painful But Necessary by Percy Bady.
