Cat Zingano vs Julianna Pena added to July 9 UFC show

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported this morning that Cat Zingano vs Julianna Pena will be added to UFC 200 July 9 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This card will be stacked so I expect this fight to possibly headline the prelims. This fight could set up a future title shot. The last time we saw Cat Zingano she was losing her title shot to Ronda Rousey in record time. After a loss like that, it's not surprising that she took a year off. Recently she announced she was ready to return. She even lobbied to fight Cris Cyborg. But as I said the other day, the UFC was not going to offer that fight to a highly ranked fighter. The last time we saw Julianna she won over Jessica Eye by unanimous decision. Then she was charged with assault after an altercation outside a Spokane bar. This was resolved a few days ago. If she stays out of trouble for the next year, the charges will be dismissed. Cat posted on Twitter that she had signed for a big fight. This is it. The bottom line is whoever wins this will get a title shot. Cat is known as a slow starter. so if Julianna gets the jump on her, we could see a quick finish. But it's also key that Julianna keep her cool if things don't go her way. Her temper is her worst enemy. This is certainly the biggest fight of Julianna's career. Will cage rust be a big issue for Cat? This fight will answer plenty of questions for the future of the title picture.
