Jamie Colleen vs Tiffany Masters added to Aug. 15 UFC show

The UFC has started a new fight series called Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series (DWTNCS). It is currently airing every Tuesday night on UFC Fight Pass. The idea is to take top regional fighters and give them the opportunity to earn a UFC contract. There are usually five fights on the show and one or two fighters will get a contract. It seems to be performance based. There was a Tweet last night from Shawn Bitter of MMA Today that a women's match has been added to the Aug. 15 DWTNCS. It's in the Strawweight division with Jamie Colleen vs Tiffany Masters. Unlike the usual UFC shows, the UFC tends not to confirm these matches until they announce the full card in a couple of weeks. Both fighters have limited experience and normally I would expect a fight like this to appear on the Invicta prelims. That's just to give you a reference point. Jamie is 31 years old from Philadelphia. Her record is 3-1. She's a former King Of The Cage champ. She won the title with a KO win over Danielle Taylor Aug. 2015. And then Danielle won the rematch by TKO Mar. 2016. Of course Danielle is now in the UFC. Maybe Jamie would have got that call if she had won. That's was Jamie's last fight so she could be a little rusty. Tiffany is 23 years old from Fond du Lac, WI. Her record is 2-0. Both fights were for King Of The Cage in Wisconsin. She was supposed to fight on the July Invicta show but that fight was cancelled when this opportunity came up. Keep in mind that Invicta contracts are not exclusive and they won't stop anyone from going to the UFC anyway. We'll see how the fight goes. It's possible that one could be offered a UFC contract or maybe neither. Both need to bring their A games to this show.
